What an Accomplishment!
Thursday, June 24, 2021

I'd like to extend a hearty congratulations to all of Saskatchewan Polytechnic's 2020/2021 grads!

Completing an educational program can be trying under "normal" circumstances, and, as someone who recently finished the end of a library degree during the COVID-19 pandemic, I can attest to just how much change students have had to adjust to over the past 18 months.

Please own that accomplishment of having succeeded under completely unforeseen circumstances and do take the time for self-care and compassion in these challenging times that we live in.

I hope to encounter you down the road in all walks of life!

Remember that learning does not end when you leave school. Take on any new job with curiosity and the will to immerse yourself in learning to be the best at it. Congratulations, and the best of luck to you!

I cannot help but feel that the graduates of 2020/21 are defined by events that have shaped all of us the past year. You have experienced, endured and succeeded during a time in which you have been challenged in every way.  To have been a student, to have observed these global events that has shifted society for generations to come - I see you emerging stronger, bolder and I have no doubt you will be part of a generation driving inclusion, innovation and redefining the future of work! Congratulations and best wishes for an exciting future!

You've made it!! Congratulations!!

Remember the effort it took you to get here. It took a lot of work, but you did it!! Know that life is full of challenges that will test you to your limits. It takes hard work to remain calm and push through whatever life throws at you. Don't give up! Your future self wouldn't want you to do that. Remain as strong as you are today and push forward for stronger tomorrows! Good luck out there!!

Never Stop Dreaming
Monday, June 21, 2021

You DONE good!!! You have  fulfilled your dream, but don't stop dreaming there!!! My advise from my father many years ago, "Education dosen't weigh anything to carry around, so never stop learning."

I graduated from Wascana Institute in June 1980 at age 40 from the Clerk Stenographer program with a Scholarship in High Academic Standing and retired from a very gratifying career with SaskPower Head Office in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 2004, after nearly 25 years. Anyone reading this, please note, you are never to old to pursue your "Dreams". Congratulations to all 2020 and 2021 Sask Polytech graduates!!!!

MaryAnn Young, Clerk Stenographer 1980

Well Done!
Saturday, June 19, 2021

A new phase of your life begins, and your decisions and hard work thus far have put you in a good place to achieve things yet unimagined. Aim high! Your curiosity and willingness to always learn new things will serve you well in the coming years. Again, well done!

First of all, well done for accomplishing what you set out to do so many months ago. Only you know what challenges had to be overcome to make it to convocation day. Now you are ready to make your mark in your chosen industry - keep the focus on what you can contribute to make things better for those coming after. Continue to do your best and you will live with few regrets.
