IMPACT REPORT - April 1 to May 30, 2020

THANK YOU! Your support is making a difference.

The Saskatchewan Polytechnic community cares! In April, we put out an urgent call for support and you answered. Thank you to our donors, friends, partners, alumni, staff and faculty for your gifts.

Your Gift is Helping Students Like Janessa

I want to say thank you so much for helping me and, in the long run, my family with this emergency bursary.

I'm a full-time student at the Moose Jaw Campus working toward a Business Diploma with a major in Accounting. I also had two part-time jobs during school. By trade, I'm a bartender, so my weekends (and some weekdays) consist of school by day, work by (late) nights. I gave up my one job the week the restaurant closed to focus more on my classes. My second job, on the other hand, temporarily closed with four hours' notice to all employees. We are still unsure what the future holds.

Receiving this bursary means we do not have to worry for a month or two about money for bills. I live with my grandparents and both are highly susceptible to COVID-19. We have been self-isolating since the school suspended classes in March, and have others run for groceries and other essentials. It's a terrifying time and this takes a huge load off my shoulders.

Thank you so much for helping those in need, who have nowhere else to turn. I honestly don't have the words to express my gratitude, but I can promise when I'm in a position to help those like you guys are, I will remember this moment and help those in need.

Sincerely,

Janessa Ash

We asked and you responded. 139 individuals and organizations rallied together to raise over $55,000! This includes 95 Saskatchewan Polytechnic employees. Thank you!

With the combined support of our donors, Saskatchewan Polytechnic,
and the provincial government, we were able to provide 600 emergency bursaries for students who had limited options.

Thanks to you, students were able to finish their semester with peace of mind. Your gift provided students with basic necessities.

Thank You!
